Denarius Augustus

Denarius Augustus reverse

Very nice metal detecting find of a Roman coin with quit a high relief.
This emperor on the coin is emperor Augustus. He ruled from 27 B.C. 'till 14 A.D.

Marcus Cassianius Latinius Postumus was a Roman emperor of Batavian origin.
He usurped power from Gallienus in 260 and formed the so called Galli Empire, he was recognised in Gaul, Germania, Britannia and Iberia until he was murdered in the year 268 AD.
