Four different types metal detecting finds of Roman period context. Fishing leads with holes in them. Of variable sizes.
Canius, a Roman rider went to Syracuse to take vacation, not business, just as he said himself he wanted to buy a villa on the coast, where he and his friends could entertain themselves while no one could disturb them. A certain banker Pythius, informed of his plan, told him: "I do not have a villa for sale, if you want you can use mine. And immidiately he invited Canius for dinner in his villa the following day.
But Pythius, a man of great respect in all positions, because he was a banker, called the fishermen together and ordered them: Come tomorrow to my house together and fish there with many. And he also added what he wanted them to do...
Canius came for dinner. While the guests enjoyed a rich meal, there sailed for their eyes a couple of boats on and off. The fishermen brought in the fish they caught and tossed them down onto the feet of Pythius. When Canius said: If I may ask, what is this Pythius? So many fish? So many boats? And they said: What is surprising to that? At this place there is all the fish of Syracuse. They cannot miss this villa.
Burning of desire Canius said: Sell the property to me. But Pythius said: Don't force me to sell my most precious possession. But because Canius did not stop bagging, Pythius admitted. The greedy and rich man bought the house for as much money as Pythius wanted.
The next day Canius invited his family. But he didn't see a single boat. He asked his nearest neighbor: Do the fishermen have a day off today? The neighbor replied: Not as far as I know. But yesterday there were so many fishermen it was like a miracle. Canius was furious of anger. But what could he do?
