His uncle Otto third Bishop of Utrecht was after the death of Floris fourth
custody over the young Willem II. After twenty years of age in Aachen
being a knight he was crowned and became a king in 1247. Willem the
second father of Floris was the fifth January 28 1256 in the vicinity of
Medemblick murdered by the Friezen.
